Sonic in Sonic Lost World
Sonic The Hedgehog is the main character of the Sonic The Hedgehog video game series, the mascot of Sega and one of Johnny's most favourite video game characters.
Bio[]
Sonic is a hedgehog from Christmas Island. He fights Dr. Robotnik/Dr. Eggman to save his friends. Sonic's best friend is Tails, a flying fox. He has many other friends and rivals such as Knuckles, Shadow and Silver.
Games[]
Sonic has appeared in a large number of games and on many different platforms. Some of his most well known are Sonic the Hedgehog (1991), Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles from back in the early 1990's and the quality of the games is known to have gone down in recent years in the eye's of reviewers and most fans but since 2010 Sonic games have started getting good reviews again. Sonic has also appeared in crossovers such as Super Smash Bros.
Importance in history[]
Sonic has proven himself one of the four faces of gaming, him heading the face of rivals and challengers. the reason this is so is because the only non-nintendo character to ever outsell Mario in a war was Sonic himself. He was the first to rival the Nintendo juggernaut, and cleared the path for more to follow. Sonic has won many rewards, and is the best selling non-nintendo franchise when counting spin-offs. During the 16-Bit war, Sonic proved the best selling franchise, and was the reason Sega led the war with a 65% lead. Sonic's absence on consoles also have negative results. Sega Saturn, the successor to the Mega Drive/Genesis, lacked a proper Sonic title, and as such, Sega bled out till' they only owned 12% of the market share. When Sonic reappeared at the helm of the Dreamcast's launch, the Dreamcast hit world records for launch sales in America, with Sonic Adventure still having positive feedback.
